Released by: Warner Music Indonesia30 lagu sealbum? Siapa yang mau nolak. Kalaupun mau, enggak akan bisa. Apalagi ini kita bicara Roxette, yang belum lama ini merayakan 30 tahun kebersamaan mereka dengan melakukan tur dari 2014 hingga ke 2016 nanti, sekaligus memaketkan lagu-lagu terbaik mereka dalam album "XXX The 30 Biggest Hits". Boleh dibilang 'Almost Unreal', tapi album ini memang benar-benar eksis. Meskipun sudah ramah dengan yang namanya kompilasi, tetap saja yang datang dari Roxette rasanya tak boleh terlewat begitu saja.
Dibuka dengan 'The Look', album ini mencoba untuk memetakan sukses global Roxette yang mereka cetak menjelang akhir 80-an. Lagu-lagu fearless dari album "Look Sharp!" seperti 'Dressed for Success', 'Dangerous', hingga 'Listen to Your Heart' tersedia disini. Ini merupakan bukti keberhasilan Roxette sebagai komoditas ekspor yang sukses dari benua Eropa, seperti ABBA ataupun Ace of Base. Nah, dalam dua keping album "XXX", tak ada aturan dalam tata letak track. Tak ada indikasi urut kronologis ataupun ranking sukses, karena kompilator mengaduknya, sehingga memori pendengar pun ikut teraduk mengikuti tracklist.
Setelah bernostalgia sedemikian lampau dengan 'It Must Have Been Love', kita dipaksa untuk menjelajah tak begitu jauh dengan 'How Do You Do!'. Bukan cuma itu, dinamika pun dimainkan, untuk menjaga pendengar supaya tetap stay tune ke album. 'Wish I Could Fly' dibalas 'Spending My Time', kemudian 'Almost Unreal' diikuti 'The Big L.'. We simply must listen, cause we can't just hear. 'Crash! Boom! Bang!' dan 'June Afternoon' adalah dinamikan lain yang terjadi dalam keping disk pertama album ini.
Sangat mengagumkan bagaimana peran Peer Gessle di kumpulan ini, yang memeras otak, bukan cuma untuk menciptakan lagu-lagu Roxette, tapi juga untuk menanam, memupuk, dan mengembangkan citra musik one-of-a-kind. Selama 30 tahun itu berhasil terjaga. Ga usah sangsi dengan kualitas musik Roxette. Yang hadir di 80-an, 90-an, ataupun 2000-an, semuanya seperti tak punya perbedaan dalam usia. Dengarkan 'Vurnerable' dan 'Milk and Toast and Honey' seperti berasal dari masa yang sama. Padahal, lagu ini terpisah jarak 7 tahun.
Tak melupakan peran Marie Fredriksson yang memberi definisi baru bagi seorang vokalis cewek dengan rambut cepat. Well, untuk tampilan fisik yang demikian bad-ass, ia tampil girly maksimal untuk 'Anyone' dan 'You Don't Understand Me', pun masih mampu mempertanggungjawabkan style-nya yang cadas untuk membawakan 'The Center of the Heart' hingga 'She's Got Nothing on (But the Radio)'. Kolaborasi sempurna antara Peer dan Marie elama 30 tahun ini merupakan jalinan persahabatan yang terekam dalam memori sejarah. Keistimewaan mereka mengalir dalam lagu-lagu emosional seperti 'Vulnerable' dan 'A Thing About You'. Mereka menggerakkan roda pop dunia dengan trend musik sendiri yang kini, di tahun ke-30 eksistensi mereka, roda itu masih berputar mulus dan lancar. "XXX The 30 Biggest Hits" adalah sejarah.
