Minggu depan tepat 20 tahun setelah Spice Girls merilis single debut mereka, 'Wannabe'. Sayangnya para fans harus menunggu lebih lama lagi untuk bisa menyaksikan konser reuni yang sudah lama didengung-dengungkan tersebut.
Mel B mengungkap hal ini saat tampil di acara bincang-bincang televisi, Love with Kelly, di New York, pada Selasa, 28 Juni. Di sesi wawancara tersebut ia berharap agar konser Spice Girls bisa berlangsung di tahun 2017. "This is the thing: it's our 20th anniversary this year - this would be the perfect year," kata Mel B.
"But places get booked out, so what we're hopefully doing is planning on doing something to celebrate next year," tambahnya. "It's something that we want to do and it'd be nice to celebrate and give thanks to all the fans. I'm not getting any younger. Let's hurry up and get this done."
Spice Girls merilis 'Wannabe' pada tanggal 8 Juli 1996 dan mencatatkan single #1 pertama mereka dan meluncurkan jargon "Girl Power" yang sempat mewabah di kalangan remaja perempuan saat itu.
